Driving Compliance (DHET, QCTO, and TVETMIS) Through Digital Transformation
SYNOPSIS
The presentation examines how TVET colleges are leveraging the (ITS), developed by Adapt IT, as a strategic digital enabler to strengthen institutional compliance and audit readiness.
Against a backdrop of increasing regulatory oversight from DHET, structured TVETMIS reporting requirements, and the transition to occupational qualifications under QCTO, the session explores how digital transformation shifts colleges from reactive, manual compliance processes to proactive, integrated governance systems.
The presentation highlights how ITS supports:
- Standardised enrolment and reporting aligned to DHET and TVETMIS
- Workplace-based learning and competency tracking for QCTO occupational programmes
- Audit trails, role-based access controls, and governance oversight
- Attendance and funding integration to reduce compliance risks
- Institutional readiness for external audits and accreditation reviews
A compliance maturity framework is introduced to demonstrate how colleges evolve from basic administrative data capture to predictive, data-driven governance.
The central argument is that digital transformation is not merely technological implementation, but a governance strategy — positioning ITS as the compliance backbone of modern TVET institutions and a critical driver of sustainable occupational programme delivery.
